Getting A Fresh Start to 2011

This photo and other similar variations were taken using cameras we purchased for our three oldest granddaughters for Christmas. Kellyn, Kiara and Kyla have been exploring the new world of digital photography during their school break.
I think that the earlier they learn the general photographic rules, the earlier they will learn to effectively break every one of the rules to produce cool photos of their own. I only wish I was with them when they caught this treeline with their Dad a few days ago. I think I would have shot about 300-400 rounds at this setting. This one was captured by Kyla, our 8 year old photo buff. Imagine being a bit jealous at 53. I thought this photo had kind of a fresh feel to begin the new year off right on NikonSniper.
Hope you enjoyed the shots from 2010 and I also hope you have been enjoying shooting your own world a little more. I can't wait to see what God drags in front of me to photograph this coming year.

I enlarged it for a better view. That is a stunningly beautiful picture! She should consider putting it in a contest - - or the county fair this next year - - seriously. And good for you for giving them the tools to create!

Absolutely beautiful! You have passed on a love for something very special to your grandgirls! They will each have their own eye for a photo and won't that be fun for you to watch their progress! Wishing you and your family a very blessed New Year! Looking forward to more images from you and your mini Nikon Snipers in 2011! ~Sarah~

Well done. Congratulations Kyla, this is a beautiful photograph. I am glad the photo bug is contagious. I suspect, NikonSniper, that you are more proud than jealous. Thanks for encouraging so many to take more pictures.

Nice shot, Wonder why poppy cannot get shot's like this? LOL Ok, so I like your blog here. My blog so far is Who stole our bible? I too am a semi-pro photographer. I have some projects, small , under my belt so far but nothing big. I use Canon equipment unlike you, but believe that it's the eye not the camera that makes great shots. Talk Later, Sid

What is it they say "The apple doesn't fall from the tree"?
Great idea to give cameras as gifts; competition can't be far behind.
Thank you for the gift of your blog, words, photos. We are looking forward to 2011 and your posts. And keep us posted on your 'apprentices' works!'

Think I got my first camera at about 11 years, we were recently looking at the old photos and laughing ourselves silly!
Definately there is nothing like photography on all sorts of levels and at every age, to connect people and to yake one to far off places...
I'm glad you started your three off the way you mean them to go on!!

Photography is a great adventure and it is wonderful that you are passing it on to your kids. I didn't discover my love for photography until I was in my 20's. It has been great but I wish I had learned it when I was younger
