The upper midwest is getting hammered with snow today. I looked out the door from which I usually leave the house every morning only to discover that drifting snow has pinned the door closed. I will post photos of the digout and from anywhere I can get in our community as the day goes on. Snow plows have not been able to get through as the storm keeps coming.
Groundhog Day has been cancelled as it is highly unlikely that they will even think about diggin' out to see their shadows.

It's -33 here in Wyoming. I can't believe this weather. Today is my birthday and to think I used to love groundhog day LOL!
Since the other groundhogs are MIA, just to let you know, I didn't see my shadow. :)

I hope the snow melts before you tackle the job of removing it. Take it easy!
How on earth can you get outside? There must be high tech equipment to do the job. Do you shovel it? Nice photo, I love the contrast. Happy Ground Hog Day...
havent have time to google, what is ground hog day if you dont mind me asking.

We have just tons of snow here too, Steve. And it's 35 below zero again this morning. I hope you can dig yourself out!
Holy cow....that is a huge drift! Be careful and stay warm!
Wow! That's the most snow I've seen so far on the blogs I follow! Be careful out there in all of that stuff! Can you believe we didn't get any snow from that storm here in West Virginia? Just rain!
No kidding! I thought about that yesterday. The snow is too deep to dig out... I would stay down in the hole too.

Wow...that's a lot of snow and cold! Oh well, the groundhog might stay in his hole but the Lord was still presented at the Temple today!
Blessings to you and your family, Steve!

I had trouble getting out of my front door too...
What a picture..thank goodness we don't have the snow..just the below temps with wind chills close to 30 below:( Not fit for man nor beast!!
Blessings..

The east must be better prepared for this amount of snow than we are here. If we had this much, we wouldn't have power or water. I don't think that I could manage in that much snow. I don't really like being cold for long periods of time. Stay safe. Don't over-do with the removal.
Oh, my! I definitely have nothing to complain about compared to your storm. Our ice is just about melted. Hope you are getting plowed out soon!
Oh glorious snow. It's raining in New England now, and I much prefer the snow. But doors pinned shut can be a rather dangerous situation! We just shoveled three feet of snow off of our deck, realizing the weight of it could lead to trouble.
Stay warm and safe.
wow, you've got a great collection of snow shots! yes, what a storm. we didn't get much snow in santa fe, but evening temps well below 0 F! Brrrrrrr!
That does not look like fun! You get the wind and snowdrifts. Even if we get a lot of snow we seldom have wind, so we don't have to deal with drifts too often. We are having a warm spell here. It's been 15 to 20 above. Our weather always seems to be just the opposite from the weather in th rest of the country. I'll bet your wife is glad that you are home and not on the road right now! And really, you can't get much better photo opps than you have right now on Groundhog Day!
Be safe!

Saying a prayer that everyone in the path of this weather stays safe and warm xx
