This is part of the former town of Dodge City where Marshall Dillon and Festus Haggan lived in the TV series Gunsmoke. It is off Johnson Canyon Road about 8 miles East of Kanab, Utah and heading North off Highway 89. I like the photo but I regret that the Gunsmoke location looks like this now. I think as I was photographing it ... I felt just a little bit older than before I saw it.

the old, crumbling buildings have a certain charm :)
I love this photo. Old barns, homestead buildings, etc., are right up my alley.
My memory is fuzzy on this one. Was it Gunsmoke or the OK coral?
Today's grouping is... different... I like it!
Wow, that brings back memories! I worked at a grocery stocking shelves in my teen years. The owner was a bit of a character, known to drink on every occasion. He also had a gun. He shot the soda machine at the grocery for not giving change once, but his main claim to fame was that he outdrew Matt Dillon. Blew up his TV, but that is just collateral damage. Oh, he was elected mayor in his later years.
I well rememebr this TV series, Steve, and it brings back memories of Sat night TV watching with my folks. Sad to see the state these buildings are now in.
Its sad no one thoughts to preserve these buildings.Would they let that happy to the brady bunch house or the Happy Days House?
Thanks for some lovely remembering. I watched Gunsmoke too. I am relieved it is old and crumbling. Kind of spooky if it didn't change, kind of like Brigadoon.
I remember that TV series. Never did know where it was shot. Interesting Post.

I love decaying building too, nice photo :-)
Oh, my I remember Mr. Dillon and Festus. I wonder if there is some of that terrible coffee still there....
