This is nice, I like the contract of the color of the snow and the dry grass. I notice that your granddaughter's name is Kyla. My daugher's name is Kyla also!! Happy New Year!!!
I saw that you'd stopped by my blog, so glad you did as it led me back to your fantastic pictures. I love taking pics myself, unfortunately i only have a compact camera at the moment. One day i'd like a nice Nikon SLR if i can save the pennies, there are some lovely ones on the market.
Looking forward to looking around your blog more. Thanks,
This small river rarely freezes ... but yes there is plenty of ice fishing done a half our north of here on bigger lakes. when they place their huts on the water they will drive their trucks out on the ice with the ice cutters etc. really something to see. i wouldn't want to be the first guy out there with my truck. the ice fishing scene in wisconsin is very much like what is shown in the movie "grumpy old men". nikonsniper steve

Wow, I used to cycle to nearby mining pools for fishing when I was young 30 years ago...
Cool place, maybe dangerous !

That's a very nice photo Stephen; wonderful contrasts.
Brrr. Do you do any ice fishing there?
Love the ice-tree.

Another great photo from you, here's to many more in 2011
I sure wouldn't want to be a fish in THAT water- as a fish I doubt I'd enjoy the scenery!!
Thank you for joining me again at my new place!
Since I discovered you, the world is much closer!
Un abrazo, Sila
That shot persuades me that a photographer doesn't have to put his camera away until spring. What pretty, stark colors!
