Kyle, Oh yes! I won't deny it. In fact ... in my Welcome to NikonSniper section on the main page, I say this: "This website records many strange events or happenings. It explores wild abstract color and different ways to view things. I have always enjoyed intense contrast in photography. To me, color splashed everywhere is great ... sometimes even enjoyable pushed to the bizarre with manipulation programs." I don't edit everything. You always want to get your original as perfect as possible but sometimes the edit is as simple as removing a bird that suddenly flew into the sky in the background producing an unclear blackish dot. So I take it out if it doesn't add to the photo. Some people say that is cheating! OK, ... then I cheat ... and I will cheat as often as I have to for the rest of my photographic life. I paid my dues! I spent thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars on film and processing that made me angry when I got that same stupid bird in the photo 30 years ago and couldn't remove it easily. So if photo purists tell me I am cheating ... I ask what they know about film. Often these purists are simply people who do not know how to remove the bird from the photo or whatever else you can alter. If they could change the photo, they would, but they might not admit it. If you go back through the photos on nikonsniper you will see that it is often very obvious when I alter some things. Sometimes you won't be sure. BUT some are very obvious. Like, ... if you see blue apples assume I altered it. HA! You should learn how to do it. It isn't hard. Just takes practice and a short college course. It really is worth it and you are young enough to wipe a 51 year old guy like me out in no time. It's fun too. I think it's just another benefit for me to hang out with younger photographers. There is an advantage that I do have on the young photographer. And it's kinda funny too. It stinks being 51! BUT, I can catch up to anyone who is 18 because I am not worried about the senior prom any more. I am married with grandkids ... so I don't have to wonder about those dreams anymore. So when 18 year old guy decides to party till 4 in the morning, I can go out to dinner with my wife and come back and practice with altering photos for an additional 4-6 hours more than the 18 year old ... without the hangover the next day. So I think I can catch up to my younger counterparts ... but oh my back hurts, my knee hurts, sometimes I feel dizzy ... so I still wouldn't mind being 18. HA! NikonSniper Steve
