Coyotes In Hollywood

This coyote was photographed on Hollywood mountain. Yes, less than 100 yards from the bottom of the HOLLYWOOD sign. I was obviously surprised but delighted to get some crisp shots up close.
The coyote was startled when I arrived but hung around for a bit longer because it was on a hill about 30 feet over my head and probably didn't think I could chase it very far. HA!

Everybody seems to be in Hollywood, so they might as well too. Good shooting (camera shooting).

Very unexpected to see a coyote in the middle of Hollywood! Poor thing looks very wet. He was probably looking for some place dry. I'm sure he's not used to so much rain.

Well, it took me a while, but I posted answers to the Tag game. Thanks so much, Steve! Yeah, a big honor and all that, yatta, yatta. Okay, I do appreciate you thinking of me, but I think like you I will make it a once a year exercise!

Love your photo.

Yesterday I was out photograhing some of the views after the rain. I saw a huge coyote run across the highway... unfortunately I was driving and couldn't pull over. I am glad you were in a place to take a photo of this one.

The wildlife here has been driven to the city with the fires that burned everything of their habitat last fall. So we're seeing bears and everything else in suburbia. My husband saw a HUGE Condor float above our neighborhood into a tall tree right after the fires. It was awesome and sad at the same time. They're all very hungry.

Hi Stephen!

interesting to see your blog!
I like you pics and especially the one with the sunset after the storm.
Love sunsets and sunrises and the sky and the sea!

Who would've thought about spying a coyote in Hollywood? I'll never forget the night I had all our windows opened in Santa Fe, NM. A coyote got hold of a deer...it went on and on and on. That's nature, I guess.

Great shot! We have coyotes in Atlanta suburbs too.

We've encroached into a land that has always had too little water. I suspect developers left that part out in the sales pitch.

Nice picture! The coyotes we have around here are double the size of this one and by the time I pulled out the camera the dogs chased him up the mountain!

God Bless,

these animals are unfortunately not to be found, here in Germany, the wolf tries to
and the lynx to resettle.
