What a thought-provoking photograph this is - I could look at it and think so many thoughts. About where I am going, where I have been, etc. This one, I think, is my favourite so far.

Vera, BINGO! You're exactly right. That is what I was trying to show in the photo. It can take you many places and yet it is full of wonder, adventure, danger ... and baronness and ...

Precious(Beautiful) they are the ways that take us nowhere, infinite plains and landscapes. Regards.

Beautiful. The sky seems to be mixing with the earth. It looks like the place where I will go in a few months except there is water in your photo and not where I'll go.

I love that. It kind of looks Arizonish in some places. Especially wet.

I'm not nearly so poetic as some of your other viewers. I see my truck bouncing over the bumps and kind of turning sideways like they do when they're floating over that washboard surface. I guess I could slow down, but then I'd feel every bump and what would be the fun in that? As always Steve - nice shot!

This reminds me of a road that was perhaps used a lot at one time, but was replaced by the more modern paved highway. Now it sits waiting and hoping for the next car to go flying over it's surface.

don & krise,
i will travel this road again someday. it was about 8 miles out to an area called "the pinnacles" near trona, ca. i couldn't get great photos of the pinnacles themselves due to horrid rain but some of these landscapes were cool because it was raining.
beautiful area.
