Willow: My Wife's Rat Dog

We've had this Rat Terrier for a bit more than 3 years and she really doesn't shed hair. If she did, ... it would be a Mexican Hairless. Her name is Willow ... and she still hasn't killed any rats that I've seen. So, I suggested that perhaps we could upgrade to a Squirrel or Raccoon Terrier next time.
Anyway, Willow was quite attentive when I shot a series of photos. I think she heard me talking about a dog upgrade. My wife won't hear anything of it.

She looks very intelligent. Greetings.

She is adorable. I've wanted a small dog but my husband keeps insisting on big dogs - he says they keep him young. But I like the looks of Willow. Maybe next time.

She looks very sweet looking. I bet she would chase squirrels. Helen

Love the expression, and rat terriers are a very smart breed, you know. There's a reason why yours hasn't fetched you a rat.

She is adorable!1 given the right opportunity, she will chase - don't get her started!!! LOL

She is precious! My trixie is part jack russell and part rat.....turn her loose on a lizard or squirrel and she is the most patient animal I have ever seen. She will not move and wait for hours on a squirrel to come down from a tree..or dig to the ends of the earth after a lizard!!! It is so funny! BUT she sheds....oh how she sheds, white hair on everything she touches!!!
Great picture!

I have shown Willow to our Jack Russel, Chi mix, Wall-E. Wall-E says that he thinks Willow to be quite lovely in his humble opinion! He shares his space with two doxies and likes the fact that he is taller than they are and can't imagine why you would want a bigger dog!

Great portrait! So you haven't seen any rats around your place, have you? Sounds to me like Willow is doing a supurb job, and it's very considerate that she doesn't leave the carcuss around for you to deal with. That's one good rat dog you have!

We have a rat terrier mix and she hunt for moles when I'm walking her. I have to keep an eye out for when she gets too close. I really don't want to deal with mole carcasses.

She sheds. On me anyway.

But she is really nice, so we'll keep her.

Willow is beautiful and intelligent looking. Maybe she scared all the rats away.
