vivian, seems that long ago ... when the river is high in the spring, the force of the river brought the trees down. they were laying in the water and people got boat motors tangled in the trees ... so they had a major clean up where they cut down the trees and hauled them away after cutting the stumps lower to the ground. at least that's what someone told me ... even though i still wondered why they didn't cut them lower. the power of the spring thaw in at the foot of mount rainier is spectacular. it would propell noah's ark like a speed boat. nikonsniper steve
