Thank you Adrian Ward for pushing me out to try again. I still need to learn how to do this better trying HDR photography when I get a bit more time.

Stephen, nothing wrong with this. If you want a more cotton wool effect then longer exposure is all you need. If you want to try HDR then take three exposures use Brkt. if you want set f stop, manual focus if you have any doubts. I am wary of leaving anything on auto. Fire away -2ev ev +2ev. capture in RAW. Go on the WEB and download Photomatix, it's free as a full programme, you just get water marks till you pay for it. No problem while you are learning!
If you go on my Blog you will find a link to Dan Norcott (easy instructions), I've got some too so will upload over the next few days, cheers A.

The power of photography...to transport the mind, body and soul into the captured image. Here is a spot I could sit all day and listen to the happy sound of water as it cascades down well worn river rocks. Bubbling, gurgling, splashing. all I need is a picnic lunch...a loaf of bread, a bit of brie and bottle of fine red wine. Ah total relaxation !

polly,
you might think i am nuts ... but many times i simply ask God to drag me in front of cool things that i can show others. i have favorite spots but i am very willy nilly in my approach to all of this.
