how did i catch it?
well, there's the obvious feeder. we had an abundance of hummingbirds on this early fall day. they are heading south at this time so they look for any source of food they can find in order to fly. hummingbirds love purples and reds (in flowers) in the illinois area. our house is a huge red barn color and i think they see the red and come here to see if there is food. so that's how we attract. gardens are better to attract in the summer with feeder being great if you change the water often.
photo was taken roughly 8 feet away from the bird at approximately 1/1500 of a sec at ISO200. i have tons of light in this area if there is sun.
