JKW (Janet),
Clearly you are right!
But I always understood Man's Best Friend ... to be an abreviation for Mankind's.
In other words ... if Neil Armstrong's wife walked down those steps to the moon, she too could say, "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."
But you're still right!

What a contented dog. Next time I am in the passenger seat of our car, my head is going out the window just like your photo. Thanks!

Love the pic - Have had 3 goldens (two have recently passed). The best animals ever! Just did a post with my "baby" - he's 5 now, and the pics is not as good as yours...but I thought I'd share.

Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it is too dark to read. by Groucho Marx

A gorgeous capture Steve, There is definitely a strong bond between a dog and its owner. A bond that demonstrates loyalty, protection, obedience and unconditional love...sounds familiar! Blessings.
