This Great Horned Owl leaped from a nearby tree to the ground less than 15 feet from me while I was sitting in my car. I have never been able to see one of these owls in the wild so close up. It sat there for a few minutes and looked like it wasn't doing anything but soon you could see that it had trapped a 24" snake. After a few minutes this owl consumed the entire snake and flew away.

Fantastic. I have a great horned owl close by my house. I hear it at least 3 or 4 times a week, usually in the wee hours of the morning, but I've never seen it. I've even sat outside waiting but to no avail. Great, great shots.
How rare to be able to view such a thing. Beautiful photos. Owls have always fascinated me. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent... perfect shots. Love that you caught feeding time. YOU are so great at what you do with your camera.
