Lord Rain Your Goodness On Us

These are the hardest words a man ever has to write.
I need help!
There, ... I said it! That hurts!
It’s true, I really do need help. This isn’t just a made-up post. After a 24+ year career with the same company, I have now been unemployed for 53 weeks and it appears that help from all those years of paying social security is now over. The world we live in is not hiring.
God has made health care available to us by other means so that isn’t a roadblock to work. I am capable and would gladly forward a resume to anyone who might know of any opportunity to be employed in the Chicagoland area … but folks, I would consider anything, anywhere at the moment.
You could also greatly help me by simply praying for us.
Humbly,
NikonSniper Steve

I'm so sorry Steve..It's a scary world we are living in now. My hubby died on August 1 of this year. I had 500.00 a month pulled out from under me. I still have the same bills to pay as before..just less money to pay them with. I've dropped everything I possibly can to save money. Doctors won't get paid because I have to eat. I wish you all the best. My bible says it will only get worse until the Lord comes back...Godspeed my friend.

I feel your pain. My daughter hasn't been able to find a job in months and it's so frustrating. What type of job are you looking for? Are you listed on "linked in?"

I wish I had something more than prayers to offer. A few years back my husband totally changed what he did. Now he works in security, not his field of training at all. I hope an opportunity comes your way.

Steve - have you considered selling your photos because they are really very good. You could try Etsy as the listing cost is very small. Good luck - I am sure something will turn up for you.

Hi Steve, sorry to learn of your testing times. Be encouraged - our God is an awesome provider who's timing is perfect. You are precious to Him and He WILL meet your needs. Praying for you and yours.

It usually past as I have experience before. Often times you think of the craziest thing on the way but in the end you'll learn something and take a hold on it and will pass through happier and wise.

Hi Steve. I understand your desperation. In my husband's profession his companies have 'downsized' or 'off-shored' three times. The last time was about a yr. and a half ago when his office decided to off-shore several of their large contracts, sending their work to India. This left my husband and so many other workers without a job. At his age - in this economy - it didn't look good.

He began to work at looking for work. He literally got up and put in a full 8 hr. day - every day looking for work. He created a 'linkedin' account, updated and uploaded his resume to Monster.com, Careerbuilder, Indeed.com, etc. He took all of the courses and instructive helps from Unemployment. He called and emailed everyone we knew in his line of work (and other lines of work).
It came to the point where we decided if we had to - we'd sell our home and move where ever there might be work. So he began to apply out of state to the jobs that were emailed to him through those employment organizations.
Finally, someone who knew my husband's work ethics contacted him with a new position that was opening in his office. My husband applied and got the job. It was a long commute every day. He spent 3 hrs. a day traveling - just to and from work! But as God would have it - this job seemed stable enough that we decided to sell our home and make a move closer so that his drive wouldn't be as long.
Try uploading your resume to all of those employment organizations and creating a linkedin acct. Maybe utilize Facebook and other social media. Those are all the things that are recommended. In the meantime - we're praying for you!!!

Our prayers are with you! You brought tears to my eyes. I have enjoyed your photos and now I feel your pain. Until last month Jim(my husband) was also laid off for over a year. I know the pain that you and your family feel. Please keep the faith and may God bless you and your family!!!
