My old office was in a building on the river. Every spring and fall I'd watch out the window when the bridges would go up to allow boats out to the lake. Magnificient engineering those bridges!

Hi Stephen
I was very moved by your comment on Janine's post and your stance for Jesus. I am firmly with you on this - a number of us seem to be drawn together and I have met some wonderful Christians: Janine, C.Michael Cox, Robynn's Ravings, and yourself plus David at Authoblog, Granny on the Web, Maggie Mae and several others. We all want to glorify the Lord. I tru to work it into my funny stories sometimes.
I admire your photographs very much and I apologise that I do not visit regularly - time is a big factor, of course. God Bless ~ Eddie

My dad is a Winnetka boy, "expat" in California for the past 50 years. When I visited Chicago some time ago for the first time, I found it the city with the most stimulating architecture I had ever seen. Something about that infinite horizon on the lake...
Breathtaking.

Great shot of the LaSalle bridge, thank you for posting it.

Ciao and thanks for becoming a regular over at my kitchen/blog.

When I first looked at this photo I thought it was of a lock here at St Katherines docks in London...until I read the where it actually was taken...gorgeous photo!! I have been to Chicago a few times having lived in Dekalb quite a few years ago but only wish I was into photograhy as I am now!! Someday I will visit the windy city again and see it in a whole new perspective I am sure!
Gorgeous photo!
