Love this...my grandfather painted the designs on the early versions of these windmills...an immigrant artist...so this is particularly meaningful photo! Love the amber sky and the black and red silhouette!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I've enjoyed scrolling through your photography, but I have to say that I am a word person, so I really enjoy your captions and titles as much as the photos themselves. Really nice-looking, witty blog.

Thanks for visiting CountryGirl-CityGirl today. I've been to Woodstock! Of course, it was 20 years ago when the only thing there was a pig farm, a U-Pick strawberry farm and a kit car museum!

Lovely photos - Go, Cubs!

dust in the air makes for awesome colors in the sky... the most gorgeous sunsets happen when there is alot of dust floating around.

Fantastic color in that sky! And the windmill is a perfect foil for the sky. Love the caption on your Ralston post! The combintaion of warmer temps, rain and now some sun are making our yard a must for photos.

Hello Stephen,

Was happy to have you visit my blog... and I've certainly enjoyed browsing yours! Your photos are wonderful... and the captions are so much fun to read! What a great imagination you have. (Love the Ralston Purina caption... and the "... thistle do")

Can't believe how orange in color the dust is! Great photo! Since English is not my origin language, I sometimes can miss a point or two. But Dust Bowl and shot of this "bowl" together....made me smile!

Thanks for visiting - and your nice comment!

I like the color in this photograph. I think you will like my latest blog post http://keystonestatephotographer.blogspot.com/2009/05/church-at-sunset.html
Because you like vivid colors, I thought of you when I saw the effect after I enhanced the sunset.

That is one truly iconic photo my friend. The colour of the sky is amazing.

Are you sure Texas isn't located on another planet?

But seriously, your eye for photos that tell a story is breathtaking.

A very striking picture. It takes an artist's eye to capture the beauty in this minimalist piece. Lovely colors.

Hi Stephen.
It's a pleasure to have you stop by my blog and Follow! I keep three, not sure if you stopped by the others but I post most often on the one called Adventures in Nature... I think you'd like it. Something fun there every day. I totally relate to what you said in your description... that on trips to foreign countries we take time to look at the small details, and photograph them, write about them, paint them, Why blur in every day life at home?

Love the colors here.

I grew up on north shore of Chicago...

Stunning pictures you have here.
I'm going to have to come back later, and really savour these.

You manage to capture feelings so well, in everyday objects; by eyes now looking at what you have seen.
