One always has to hold a citrus wedge to the light. To spot seeds is secondary; primarily, one can never get enough of what the light reveals: His Handiwork.
With all you photographers around, I will never again feel I have to try to figure out my husband's Pentax. Surely it should be against the law for someone to snap a small distant green-leafed pink rosebud with a backdrop of grey-brown bushes, 55 times in one day!
If you stop by my blog you can pick up my Birthday Award which I've given to all my followers - just copy it so you can paste it into the side bar of your blog.
So in my spare time I look at photo blogs (spare time is a rare luxury for me as I am in the midst of Nursing School) I came across yours today and WOW. I am really speechless. Your work is amazing. I can truly see the way you view the world, it is incredible. PS I put a link to your blog on my photo blog, I love it THAT much! Thanks for sharing!
welcome hannah, i look at tons of blogs too. i learn from everyone i encounter. every now and then i run into something that is so stupid easy i wonder why i haven't learned it yet. well, it's a progression i guess. that's why i love looking at others photography. in most cases i can figure out how a photo was done so i can really learn a lot by seeing the end products. nikonsniper steve
blossomflowergirl, the orange was extremely delicious. never had one better in my life. came right of the tree about 10 miles west of visalia, ca. oh, you wanted to know about the light. oh, i was holding it up to the sun behind it. is that cheating? i also increased the ISO to make the camera more sensitive to the light present. i was really just trying to simply a shot to show that these things are all around us to photograph. no subject is too small. nikonsniper steve
jordiegirl, thank you for your kind remarks. for some reason i can't view your blog. i am so sorry i have no idea why but this just happened. i have never had this happen with any other blog. maybe it will sort itself out. thanks again. mikonsniper steve

This is perfect. I came across your blog through Lavender Dreams and I'm happy I did.
I recently bought a Nikon and I believe your posts will be helpful and inspiring as I've a lot to learn about photo taking.
Take care.

Nice a simply shot.
Really nice - I'll have to remember to do that with my orange next time - hold it up to the light!
That shot of the orange wedge is beautiful. It makes me want to have an orange, right now.
Neat, Steven !! I am dabbling in Still Life and Lightbox a tad, and thats a great idea too !! Thanks !!
How did you get the orange slice to glow like that? It's like it has a light inside it.
Cheers.

Great photo, such an intricate pattern on a segment of orange, like a butterfly wing!

Very creative! There's a picture in everything, it just needs a good eye to find it.
