Truly inspiring for me. Terrfic shot, I don't see such cute birds everyday but I tried these kinda shots with my normal digital camera twice... to only get these results...

I never have a lot of success with shots like this. What settings do you use? I often find that when I post process in PS, I wash out the sky trying to get the proper levels for the subject. Do you do use 2 layers (one to get correct levels for the bird and another for the sky)?
