Hi Stephen, I noticed you have added to follow one of my blogs and i read your profile and think what you are doing is amazine. I am looking at your photographs and thinking wow !! Beautiful. I only have a little digi camera but i so adore taking photo's too and like you i love to think my grandchildren will see them. I love your blog and will be back and may even be inspired to start yet another blog just for my little digi photo's and fun hugs June
Janine, How do I do it? I really don't know. When I was younger they would always fly away. Now that I am older they seem to just look at me like I am no danger at all. This seagull was old and wasn't afraid of me. I wonder if they recognize cameras and think they have never been hurt by someone with one of those crazy boxes. In the case of the deer on the hill ... it just looked at me like I was an idiot for climbing on the cliffs where there were clearly posted signs stating not to do so. But when I was younger ... they always ran away. But I am a whole lot smarter now too!", he said after the cliff dropped out 2 feet below his feet. I get my camera ready for the situation before I walk into the photo. NikonSniper Steve
I love the pelican. The are in a squadron formation in central east coast FL. I don't see as many here in SE FL. I appreciate your sharing so much of your work. You have a good eye. To answer a question raised above, the older we get the calmer we are and the more nature and we are one. It is a great blessing to see the world through your eyes. Thank you. Blessings, Janet
This photo makes me think of how perfect of an animal the pelican is to catch on film. They look incredibly graceful in the air and in photos, while at the same time are goofy and humorous when they are caught on video. I think one of the funniest moments that I have seen with a pelican caught on film, is the "pelican eating a pigeon" video.

Now where are the gulls crying "mine, mine" next to that one?!
Beautiful picture. Makes me miss the ocean!
LOL! Love the Nemo reference!
This is a cute picture. I don't think we have pelicans up in this neck of the woods...at least that I've seen.
This shot is stunning!
Perfectly shot!
Perfect focus and perfect composition!

Great pic...and I love that you can see such detail.
Love your attitude Stephen. Thanks for following my blog: it's brought me to yours x
Beautiful! I never saw one so close... But I think that it is an amazing big bird!
Beautiful, beautiful work......xojana
I've enjoyed the tour of your blog and the pictures you have captured. Nice to see birds up close that you wouldn't normally get near.
How do you do it? Get the photo without scaring the Pelican away? You must bear the designation, "Dr. Doolittle." ;-) Fantastic photo!! ~Janine
