The Farm In 1971

Occasionally an artist will take one of my photos and turn it into something even better! This painting was beautifully done by Francesco Acciaro from Milano, Italy. The painting was inspired by a photo I took a few years ago of a barn on Highway 14 just South of Woodstock, IL. The property is vacant now and sits on land the will likely be developed into housing or industrial building within the next 10 years. Check out more of Franceso's work on his blog. All I do is push buttons! What I do is more of a skill than an art. I really have an appreciation for what people can do with their hands. Great job Francesco!

For me there is something about old barns, the wood, the light, the sky behind it. I loved your post today. Nice bold protruding colors.

Your photos are GORGEOUS! Thanks for following my blog. I'm following yours now. My husband grew up near Chicago. I love visiting that area.

Hi Stephen,
Such a compliment that someone used your artistic photo for their painting. After years of working as a tech in an art department, I found this definition:
If you work with your hands,
You are a laborer.
If you work with your hands and your mind,
You are a craftsman.
If you work with your hands, mind and heart,
You are an artist.
By this definition, You are an artist. You pictures are so beautiful and inspire others.
Thanks.

That is one beautiful barn, both in the photo and the painting, and both are art. Don't sell yourself short.
