The title erased every intelligent reaction I had to this photo. All that comes to mind now is "Wow, this looks nothing like your profile pic". lol!

Class! I have horses and can I take a decent shot. Nope because they're intent on schnoofing the lens. Happiness is horse snot on your Canon 400D!

They seem over-joy'd to see the famous photographer... or is it that fancy Nikon camera in your hand that all blogger-donkeys have been talking about. ;)

In praise of the donkey.

Giordano Bruno was a medieval philosopher and theologian who was eventually burned at the stake for being a heretic. He wrote a book called The Cabala Of Pegasus. He founded some wisdom on the reference to the donkey which Christ rode into Jerusalem. And he wrote:

"With such a happy mind and a good hide, Your head shows natural good, As your nostrils show sober judgment, Your long ears a regal hearing, Your thick lips a mode of great fashion.

I rejoice only in praising you."

It's no wonder they grin all the time.

Fuzzy Muzzles :)

We were in South Dakotee and there were feral burros on the roadside stopping traffic and mocchin' treats...the little ones were adorable and the big ones were pushy.

btw I had a few drinks with some visitors from Japan last week who informed me that Nikon is pronounced Neekun...
it all started when I told them that I have been on a mission to stop North Americans from saying cayr-ee-o-kee...which the girls found histerically odd.
Just sayin' is all..

Wonderful shot! Looks like they were fighting over who got to have your camera, or perhaps just chew on your beard. Very cute!

I love your donkeys. He even seems to be smiling to the camera!!!

joanna,
you're right. we take carrots every time. these donkeys are very beautiful and they always seem to be smiling. they are absolutely brutal to each other. they bite and kick and scream if they feel that they are being pushed around. most of the time they are good ... then all of the sudden it gets nuts. i hate to say it but ... that's worth the price of admission to get that up close. pecking order is alive and well in donkey town.

ann,
great line! there are so many lines you can use when photographing ass. it's like when you go to the hoover dam and park in the dam parking lot get on the dam elevator and walk across the dam bridge. my wife knows what i mean when i tell her i am going to shoot some ass this afternoon.

sheila,
the smiles are all about the carrots but you can really get great expressions for captions. i will put more on in days ahead ... i just got keep things mixed. christmas shots in july are cool to see too. just like summer shots when there is 2 feet of snow in my driveway.
