Another amazing picture. How far away were you from him?

Gramma Ann,
I would guess I was about 40 yards away. I was trying to get it to stop and turn his/her head toward the camera. But no luck today. I have never been able to get a coyote this close so even though it isn't as sharp as I would like ... it was still a new first for me. I think I will get more in the future ... I learned a lot in the process of this shot and have become a better hunter for the next time and for me ... that is just as big a thrill.

Oh! I love the shot, just the way it is. He or she is a beauty. My old eyes think it is sharp. But, what do I know? ; )

Nice shot!! Hunting with a camera is so much better than any other kind of hunting!!

This is a really excellent shot....maybe better than you think.

A while back I spent several hours searching images on the web, looking for a picture of a healthy AND beautiful coyote. I finally gave up. I even found whole web sites dedicated to the beasts...ugly, ragged etc.

I have one that passes through my yard... the most beautiful, full bodied, perfectly colored and looks like he just stepped off the grooming table. Judging from the dogs I've had I estimate his weight to be well over 70 pounds.

So thanks for a healthy looking animal.

Oh--I almost missed this one--and it is beautiful with the colors and lighting both in him and the shrubs.

Love it! I'm a city girl but live to walk through a small nature preserve on the edge of town. One day I surprised a coyote that was hiding in a clump of grass I was approaching. I was practically on top of it when it burst out and loped away. At first I thought it was a dog--being a city girl, as I said--but reason said it couldn't be and as I investigated what I saw, I realised it was a coyote. What a thrill to have been so close to one! They are a beautiful animal.
